About us

Bangkok Christian Private School is a private school for boys, based in the Si Lom financial district in Bangkok. Established in 1852 by the American Presbyterian missionaries, the school is famous as a very prestigious and selective school in the country. It hosts about 6,000 students in 12 grades, but only about 5% are Christians. This is despite being a Christian school. It has students and learners of all faiths because it is highly reputable.

The Bangkok Christian private school started offering the Intensive English Program or IEP in 2002. This was in an attempt to help students understand English in different contexts. Students undergoing the IEP program learn from native English speaking teachers.

When the Ministry of Education of Thailand introduced a pilot project for native-English education, the Bangkok Christian College piloted the program. It now provides a full K-12 program (Prathom-1 to Matthayom-6). Students also undertake English, Maths, and Science.

Other subjects they undertake in this EIP curriculum are social studies, music, physical education, and health education. The school has a range of facilities that are divided into primary, junior, and senior schools. Some of the former learners in this school include top politicians in Thailand.

Students and learners are separated as primary students, junior and senior high school students. They all undertake IEP and EIP English programs. At the high school level, the school organizes the students according to their program, major, and examination score. The students stay that way until graduation. At the primary and junior levels, students change rooms each academic year.

Classes at high school are organized as Mathematics-Science Class, language-math, and language-art programs, Sports Class, General-Art Class, and EIP Class. Each of these is split into numbers 1-2, also called King and Queen for top students in that class; 3-5, also called regular class for those who score normal scores.
