Beaconhouse Yamsaard International School (BYIS), Bangkok is a Cambridge-registered international school providing integrated British curriculum education to students from Kindergarten to Primary School. Founded in 2015, the school is part of one of the world’s largest private school networks, Beaconhouse School System.
Beaconhouse Yamsaard International School (BYIS), Bangkok is part of the Beaconhouse School System, a global network of private schools, institutes, and universities which was founded in 1975.
In 2014, Beacon School System partnered with Yamsaard School Group to offer a knowledge-based UK-Singapore curriculum education under the name Beaconhouse Yamsaard International School. BYIS uses English as the primary language of instruction, with additional subjects in Mandarin and Thai. Offering a generous teacher-to-student ratio, the school offers personalised, 21st century learning experiences based on The New Social Learning philosophy by Tony Bingham and Marcia Conner.
The school accepts girls and boys aged 2-18 years from EYFS to Year 7. BYIS is conveniently located in an open environment in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit area. Beaconhouse Yamsaard International School Bangkok is certified by ISAT and CIS, and is currently undergoing the NEASC accreditation process.

Beaconhouse Yamsaard International School, Bangkok offers a broad and balanced Cornerstones programme based on the standards of the National Curriculum of England. The Early Years Foundation Stages offers a holistic approach to learning, covering communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, as well as literacy, mathematics, expressive arts and design, and understanding the world.
At the primary level, the British curriculum is interwoven with the Cambridge International School Curriculum and Testing programme, which offers a thematic, project-based approach that provides students with enriching and memorable learning experiences. Through Individual Learning Projects (ILPs), young learners gain knowledge and skills as they journey through four stages of learning: Engage, Develop, Innovate, and Express. Mastery of concepts is monitored through Cambridge Progression tests, which are administered twice a year.
Extra-curricular programmes are also an integral part of student life at BYIS. The school encourages participation in school clubs, as well as after-school activities including swimming, football, ballet, art, ICT, and academic programmes.

We use the four stages of learning throughout the school. Engage, Develop, Innovate and Express.
We use the four stages of learning and interconnecting it with play-based learning. They start by having a fun and engaging field trip that connects to their theme. They will be asking questions and discovering new things around them. Our teachers then use the Develop stage to develop new skills through fun and playful activities to showcase during our innovate and express stages.
At Beaconhouse, our primary school students are encouraged to explores real-world situations and develop the skills for critical thinking, analysis and inquiry. Beaconhouse uses these behaviours and skills to further develop learning milestones and the interaction and understanding of theory and practical know-how to be applied to real-world situations. The innovate stage of learning allows teachers to make an interconnection between Knowledge and project-based learning. The students can create and build a solution for these problems using the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout the theme.
