Thai-Japanese Association School, Bangkok is one of two Japanese schools located in the capital city. Located in Huai Khwang District, the school accepts Japanese nationals to its Primary to Junior School education programmes. It offers English language classes designed to promote mastery of the language and develop students into excellent communicators. Classes are small for a more improved learning experience and the curriculum is also focused on fitness, apart from academics.


Around 2,500 students currently make up the student population, making Thai-Japanese Association school one of the largest Japanese schools outside of Japan. The school is sponsored by the Thai-Japanese Association and affiliated with the Thai-Japanese School Sriracha in Chonburi province.

Thai-Japanese Association School, Bangkok is a widely recognized Japanese school in Thailand. It precedes the Itamiya Japanese Elementary School of Taisho, founded in 1926, which is believed to be the oldest Japanese school in the world. In July 1974, the Thai government granted Thai-Japanese Association School to operate as an international school.

The school caters to Japanese national students whose families reside in Thailand. Considered to be one of the biggest Japanese schools outside of Japan, Thai-Japanese Association School currently has 2,500 students attending Junior and Primary grade levels and over 220 teachers and staff. The school curriculum follows that of the Japanese education system.


Thai-Japanese Association School, Bangkok focuses on the development of the languages, mind, and body. Students follow the Japanese education curriculum with emphasis on the development of an international mindset.

The school promotes moral education, creative expression, and mental and physical fitness. Thai-Japanese Association School study programmes are based on the Japanese curriculum and calendar, with English language classes designed to develop students into exceptional communicators.

Apart from its rigorous academic programmes for Junior and Primary schools, the school offers swimming classes and fitness activities and hosts competitions throughout the year for health and recreational purposes. Students are also exposed to simulated crisis management training.
